The Making of Britain

This course will look at the settlement and development of Britain from the Stone Age to the creation of the British Empire in the 18th Century. From the first farmers to the first mill workers we will trace the growth of Britain and her people using archaeological discoveries and manuscripts such as the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles and Domesday Book.
