The course will introduce some of the themes that have preoccupied visual artists in the last forty years. No prior knowledge of the subject is required: all are welcome. The course begins with Conceptual Art and its continued importance for contemporary artists, and goes on to explore Performance and Installation Art. The course includes field-trips to the Walker Art Gallery and a contemporary gallery in Liverpool.
