Art History 1850 - the present day

Tutor: Edward Bruce
Friday 12.15-2.15
Term starts 27th April 2012

Have you ever wanted to find out more about the art of Turner and Constable or the Impressionists? How about Picasso and Matisse? And what is all that weird and wonderful stuff in the Tate all about? The course is for everyone and for all abilities. No experience necessary! It will focus on the Western European art from 1850 to the present using lectures gallery field trips (where you can engage directly with the artworks themselves) and plenty of discussion! The course is in two parts: Part 1 (Spring Term) 1850-1950; Part 2 (Summer Term) 1950-the present day.
