British Art & Design (1851-1951)

Tutor: Edward Bruce
Wednesday 10-12
Term starts 17th April 2013

The course is aimed at those who like discovering art and design through lectures, discussion and field-trips. It continues the survey of British Art and Design from previous terms, but is a stand-alone course and no previous experience is necessary. Topics covered include the Garden City movement with tour of Port Sunlight Village, and a survey of artists Stanley Spencer and L.S. Lowry, concluding with the Festival of Britain in 1951.
