Enjoying Music

Tutor: Rod Tann
Tuesday 10-12
Term starts 16th April 2013

The main aim of this informal course is to broaden our musical horizons, and enjoy the wealth of ‘classical' music that has been written over the past 500 years. We will hear examples of music as it has developed over the years and learn something of how the instruments of the orchestra have evolved. We will look at the lives and works of individual composers and enjoy some of their music. No previous knowledge is necessary, nor is it necessary to be familiar with a musical instrument – just an interest in the subject and a receptive ear.
