Introduction to Philosophy

This course offers a basic introduction to aspects of Western Philosophy. A knowledge of philosophy is not necessary in order to take part in this course. However an open and enquiring mind is desirable in order to fully experience this course. Where possible, philosophical concepts/ideas will be illustrated by means of literature, film and contemporary culture.

Application of Philosophy

This course focuses upon the application of philosophy to art, religion and political ideologies. Knowledge of philosophy is not necessary, however an open and enquiring mind is a requirement in order to fully experience this course. Where possible, philosophical concepts/ideas will be illustrated by means of literature, film and contemporary culture. An understanding of philosophy can have a transforming effect upon a person’s life.
