About Us

Wirral 3Ls is a Registered Charity Limited by Guarantee, and was established in 1995 under the umbrella of the Learning in Later Life Programme sponsored by Wirral Metropolitan College.

Membership is open to anyone, particularly those aged 50 plus, with no other restrictions. There is a £12 annual membership fee. It is a volunteer led organisation and the Trustees and council are drawn from the membership. The Organisation provides lifelong learning opportunities and social activities for the members and is based at Bebington Civic Centre, which is the venue for most of our courses.

The Organisation's learning provision is through non-accredited courses which reflect the wide range of interests of the community we serve. Experienced Tutors ensure that each class is pitched at a level suitable for all learners. We canvass Members' opinions on the range of subjects offered and update our programme depending on the viability of the suggestions and the resources available to us.

Our courses are planned around an academic year consisting of three 10 week terms and we produce a comprehensive programme for each term, detailing the classes and the fees charged.

All of our classes are delivered during the day, which particularly suits the learners in our target group. Bebington Civic Centre includes parking facilities and reasonable public transport links. There is a lift providing access for people with disabilities. Our aim is to provide lifelong learning opportunities in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

The extensive social programme provides a safe, group environment for members to experience culture and fun, especially for those who live on their own.
